Free Shopify Store Checkers

Seven free tools that check a Shopify store from the outside, the way a shopper, a search engine or a regulator sees it. Enter a store address and get a result in under a minute. No install, no sign-up and no email address.

Working through it all? Start with the Shopify accessibility checklist: 19 checks, each linked to the tool that tests it.

How these checks work

Each tool reads the public pages of the store you enter, the same pages any visitor can see. Nothing is installed, nothing in your store is changed, and results are not stored. Because they read from outside, they sample rather than crawl, and each tool says plainly what it cannot see.

When you need more than a quick check

Two of our Shopify apps go further from inside your store. Remedy scans every page in a real browser, fixes what can be fixed, and keeps a dated record of what was found, fixed and still open. Locale Proof crawls every language and market you publish and reports what your translation app did not. Both have a free plan.

Questions

Are these tools really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no trial and nothing to install. They are free because they show store owners what our apps do, and most stores only ever need the quick check.
Can I check a store that is not mine?
Yes. The tools only read public pages, so you can check a competitor, a client or a store you are thinking of buying from.
Do they work on any Shopify theme?
All of them work on any public Shopify storefront. The color contrast checker reads Dawn, Horizon and the themes built on them, and offers a manual checker for the rest. Stores with a custom (headless) front end cannot be read by any of them.
