SYSTEM BRIEFING: Understanding the Attack
1. How Brute Force Works
Hackers don't guess passwords manually. They use software to generate billions of combinations per second. They start with "a", then "b", eventually reaching "zzzzzz". If your password is short, it is mathematically impossible to hide it.
2. The Math of Entropy
Security is about Combinations. A 6-digit pin has 1 million combinations (10^6). Adding just one lowercase letter increases the pool to 26. Adding symbols increases it to 94.
"123456" = 10^6 combinations
"aB3$kL" = 94^6 combinations (Billions)
3. Dictionary Attacks
Before trying random letters, hackers try common words (like "password", "football", or names). If you use a real word found in a dictionary, your password will be cracked instantly, regardless of length.
4. How to Prevent It
Length > Complexity. A 15-character phrase like "purple-elephant-jumping" is often stronger than "P@ssw0rd1" because the length creates exponential difficulty for the machine.
IS YOUR SECURITY SUFFICIENT?
Hackers don't sleep. Ensure your digital footprint is secure.
