Most of what we write about here is hardware and software you can hold or install: power banks, phones, privacy tools. This post is about something we built ourselves. iTechVista now runs a marketplace for ready-made code at code.itechvista.com, and it works differently from the places you may have bought code before.
The problem: downloaded code has become riskier
Buying a starter project, a component library or a script can save weeks. But most places that sell code let anyone upload anything, and the checks, if there are any, happen after something goes wrong.
That was already a risk when the worst case was malware in an install script. It is a bigger one now that so many people code with AI assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Claude. Those assistants read every file in a project, including comments and documentation nobody else looks at. A package can carry instructions written for the assistant rather than for you, telling it to add a hidden dependency, weaken a security check or send data somewhere. This is called prompt injection, and an ordinary code review is not designed to catch it.
What we check before anything goes on sale
Every package on the iTechVista Code Marketplace goes through review before it can be sold. Four things are checked:
- Malware. Nothing that steals data, downloads something else at install time, or runs where it should not.
- Prompt injection. No hidden instructions aimed at AI coding assistants, in code, comments, docs or config.
- Build integrity. The package builds and runs by following its own included instructions.
- Originality. It is not someone else's code relisted under a new name.

For buyers
- What you buy is yours permanently, stays downloadable, and includes future updates to that package.
- If a package does not build following its own instructions, or is missing something the listing advertised, report it within 48 hours and you get a full refund. The refund policy spells it out.
- Checkout is through PayPal, which also takes cards.
For developers who want to sell
If you have a finished project, a component set or a tool that saved you time, you can list it. There is no listing fee and no monthly charge. When something sells, the marketplace keeps 15% + 75 cents and you keep the rest: on a $29 sale that is $23.90, paid to your PayPal after a short hold.
iTechVista is the merchant of record, which means we handle checkout, sales tax, delivery and refunds, so you do not have to register for sales tax or build a store. Need something built instead?
Post a custom request: describe what you need and set a budget. You pay your budget and nothing more. The money is held until you approve the finished work, so the developer is paid for results. The developer's side carries a 12% + 75 cent fee, which is less than the big freelance platforms charge.
